She's my best friend (la, la dee da)

This is my bicycle, my Raleigh Retroglide Cruiser. I normally have named my rides in the past...there was Margaret, my white Grand Am, for instance. But I never named this bike. This is the 3rd bike I've owned. My first was a pink Huffy. The second, a blue Schwinn. Maybe I just like to say "Raleigh Retroglide Cruiser." Maybe "Big Red" just somehow doesn't suit her perfectly. Maybe I just need to get to know her a little better. Truthfully, I should take her out more. But she's a little heavy, to be honest. Maybe it's me. Maybe I should get stronger to lift her up and down those flights of stairs. I've also added a basket on, so with that and her handlebars, she's a bit wide.
To find her, I called every bike shop in New York. I knew it had to be this 04 model, and I knew it had to be red. Finally, I called a local bike shop in my parents' state. Sure enough! So, after buying her over the phone with my credit card, my mum picked her up and stored her for about 4 months. Then she was disassembled to fit in a rental car and stored in my apt for another 5 months. Girl, you are dusty! Well, this is the second season I have with her. I'm glad she was the one. She sure is pretty! If only I could find a Toto to ride along in the basket, I'd be golden!

This bike looks like it was worth the trip home. In my mind I see you in you riding this while your hair is in pigtails with ribbons. If this isn't how you ride your bike, don't tell me. I like the picture in my head.
