The Modern Day Hero

He wakes up early to get rid of the monster cockroach in your shower
And tells you it's a water bug, who just wants to be your friend

He waits in line for the pool amongst a million screaming kids
Then smiles as he swims in the cold water, and says he's having fun

He sautes the vegetables for dinner
Because you can't do it without scalding yourself

He walks in the park in the winter with you
And writes romantic ditties in the snow

He sits on the other end of the couch and reads with you
Instead of watching the television

You ask me how one knows
But it really isn't brain surgery
