Romancing the Day

It started with the tv off
It started with a poem
I lit a candle, said a prayer,
Stretched and yawned an om

I did a bit of writing
Just to have a check-in
I played a little music
And then I got to gettin'

I took a walk around the block
I downed a cup of tea
I had a cookie, and then it was
Just the day and me

We did some window shopping
We hummed a little song
We swung our arms and skipped about
Nothing could go wrong

It didn't take much convincing
We got along just fine
The day it was a blessing
The time it was divine
