One should not spend all day
inside the apartment
There's a whole world
to love
Neighbors to say hello to
Puppy dogs to pet on the street
You'll appreciate the breeze
As it blows through your hair
Even if it's chilly
Even as it gusts
You'll remember the sun
Shining down on you last springtime
Ages ago it was
When you were young
inside the apartment
There's a whole world
to love
Neighbors to say hello to
Puppy dogs to pet on the street
You'll appreciate the breeze
As it blows through your hair
Even if it's chilly
Even as it gusts
You'll remember the sun
Shining down on you last springtime
Ages ago it was
When you were young
Upon Dwelling
I drove by your houseI called your name
It carried in the wind
But it wasn't the same
You were not there
You went away
I called your name
You had not stayed
What was that you said?
It echoed in my dream
A love was left behind
Was that your scheme?
Did you ever care
Was it all a game
What were we thinking of
And who should take the blame?
Let us just agree
Should history confuse
It was all a fantasy
I was never your muse

Learn something
By taking one hour per day for independent study, 7 hours per week, 365 hours a year, one can learn at the rate of a full-time student. In 3-5 years, the average person can become an expert in the topic of their choice by spending only one hour per day.

When I remember Grandma
I remember
Sunday drives
Kings on a Corner
Frozen cherries
Little Avon lipsticks
Old-fashioned words, like "davenport" and "shears"
The neighbor's tree swing
Bails of hay
Rock collections
Late-night bowls of Cheerios
And most of all, the greatest love and acceptance I will ever know.

You wonder who I am
I am
Does anyone know where I might purchase a green velvet fainting couch?
The little girl with the most valentines.
The sad bouquet was redelivered and once again I've sent it away.
Be nice and then you'll find I've slipped the key to my secret garden into your overcoat pocket.
If you ask me, it's all just one big production of The Glass Menagerie.
The girl you invite your parents over to meet.
Nostalgic for things that haven't even happened yet.

Madge spoke to me
Just walking along, getting cash at the ATM at lunch, when I felt the compulsion to check out the latest magazines at the little shop, just to see if anyone interesting was on any covers. Lo and behold! Madge on Bazaar! It's probably been on the shelves for two weeks, right? Well, have heart, Lady Madonna, I bought it, appreciate you, and will read all about it. Becuz you rock!

The boy who didn't have birthdays
Poor Mr. H. His life lived in limbo as a leap-year baby. "I'm a year older, but it's not really my birthday." It seems very unfair. How does he cope? And just what day does he celebrate? The last day of February, whatever that may be. Sorry, Mr. H. We're there for you, man.
