RUN; DO NOT WALK!

...to your grocer's freezer: Edy's has put out limited edition ice cream with Girl Scout cookies in it! Thin Mints and Tagalongs and Samoas. Apparently it was from January through April. I suppose it's a good thing I just discovered this towards the end of the run...?

Hey, Broadway: Ripped Not Required!

I've seen two straight plays recently where there were shirtless actors. And both times the guys looked like body builders when the roles didn't call for it. Honestly, it wasn't a turn-on. It was distracting! This isn't film, this is theater! And it really isn't necessary, guys. Please. Let's not set this ridiculous standard, hmmm? Theater should mirror life, and that's not the reflection we see! I won't begrudge you being in shape, but take it easy, right?! Here's a challenge: Find someone who's sexy from the inside, ala the cast of Six Feet Under!

By the Skin of Her Teeth

It's easy to get down on your acting career. And your life. And it seems I'm always coming in by the skin of my chinny, chin chin...

Like, I have an off-Broadway credit, but I didn't have any lines in the actual show...

Like, I was chosen to be on the 2007 CD my voice-over coach puts out, but I was the last one added...

Like, I live in one of the loveliest Brooklyn neighborhoods, but I live at the edge, facing the highway...

And, you know, it's okay. I'll get there. Eventually. And you just have to be grateful. Because you never know where anything will lead you. And you have to have FAITH.

SUNK

I turned on the news last week to hear about the cruise ship sinking off the coast of Santorini. But when I saw the name of the ship in the video, "Sea Diamond," I gasped! Last summer, my mother and I were on that ship! And our friend was angry at us when they did the trial emergency run because we were taking our time...What a way to ruin a vacation! I hope those poor people saw some good sunsets!

I Karaoke

I went to my first karaoke last week! For a birthday party! Earlier this year we left a party early to get home, and missed out on the karaoke and the photo ops. I must admit, I left a little relieved, because, well, I was afraid! ...But now I'm thinking I could own it...

I always picture the scene in "My Best Friend's Wedding," where the girl is humiliated in front of a huge bar of people. But the great thing in NYC is, you can rent your own private room for your friends and just have fun! And that's what we did! Okay, I didn't get on mic by myself this time, but I feel I could...in the future...with the right song!

Oh, it's cheesy, and just SO FUN! Happy Birthday, Cristina!
