Wind and the Window Flower

LOVERS, forget your love,
And list to the love of these,
She a window flower,
And he a winter breeze.

When the frosty window veil
Was melted down at noon,
And the cagèd yellow bird
Hung over her in tune,

He marked her through the pane,
He could not help but mark,
And only passed her by,
To come again at dark.

He was a winter wind,
Concerned with ice and snow,
Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.

But he sighed upon the sill,
He gave the sash a shake,
As witness all within
Who lay that night awake.

Perchance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
From the firelit looking-glass
And warm stove-window light.

But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away.

Getting Wet with the Naked Brothers

I know most of the shows that shoot in New York, but when it comes to cable, I can sometimes be out of the loop. So when the casting agency that called me for "30 Rock" called me for "The Naked Brothers Band," there was some 'splainin' to do. (Actually it's on Nickelodeon, so I felt much better after that.) And it's a family show; the mom directs, while the dad, two sons and niece act in it. The people were really nice, and the kids were incredibly cool.

I played a reporter along with around 20 others. And we were told we would be getting squirted with squirt guns. Well, we got there and it was a garden hose! ....Some deception to drag us out to a warehouse district in Brooklyn...But we did get more pay for it. And it helped that the dad also had to spray himself with the hose too. It was an adventure. And it was definitely more fun than sitting at a desk all day. I didn't get a line, but it'll be in the Polar Bear episodes (there should be 3 of them).

After Four Years, a Bone.

I've worked at XXX Advertising Agency for four years now. And yesterday, finally, out of the blue, I got to do some print modeling! It was for a pitch for a really big company. And my prop was ... a purple umbrella! (Kinda funny, because the next film I'm in is called "Umbrella" and will be shot by a fellow coworker.) Before the shoot, I stood there while the photographer struggled with his tripod, trying to get it short enough! I was like, you want a taller model don't you?! No, he insisted! (Supposedly, you do not need to be tall to do commercial print....)

And...I actually also just met with a new management company for print work. They gave me stickers to put on my pictures with their name and address! I love stickers! Yea, Score, Me!

I'm sorry I didn't turn up
for our date the other night
When I got off the A at 14th Street
The invisible lump in my throat swelled so
And I knew I must retreat
You can make it home, you can
And then, the tears, one stop away from home
Breaking forth in the tight quarters of the rush hour commute
Are you okay?
Yes, oh yes. I bury my face in my wool cap

Mother never let me cry in cold weather
Tears can freeze on your face forever
And that just wouldn't be pretty now would it?
Why are you sighing?

Nothing. (Everything.)

Great! Carry on!

Four Dead Mice

And counting ...

i hope you enjoy your luxury waterfront condo

and if the river rats get too hungry
and try to eat your children
i'm sure you'll be able to fill your empty Bugaboos
with unlimited amounts of organic produce

What's it all about, Al-fie?
Is it just for the moment we live?
What's it all about
When you sort it out ... ?
